Marcy Schnitzer was promoted to assistant provost for diversity and strategic planning at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg. She was associate director for diversity strategic planning and improvement. She joined the staff at the university in 1995 as assistant director of the Service-Learning Center.
Dr. Schnitzer holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, all from Virginia Tech.
Ulanda Adair-Simpson was appointed executive director of health occupations at Lone Star College in The Woodlands, Texas. She has 12 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member in nursing.
Adair-Simpson is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University in Texas. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center and is a doctoral candidate in the educational leadership program at Prairie View A&M University.
Kathy Woughter, vice president for student affairs at Alfred University in New York, has agreed to take on the additional duties as interim vice president for enrollment management, effective August 1. She has served as vice president for student affairs since 2004.
Woughter is a graduate of the State University of New York-Geneseo, where she double majored in biology and secondary education. She holds a master’s degree in counselor education from Alfred University.
Kirsten Turner was promoted to associate provost of academic excellence operations at the University of Kentucky. For the past 12 years, she has been chief of staff in the College of Arts and Sciences at the university.
Dr. Turner is a graduate of Hanover College in Indiana. She earned a master’s degree at the University of Kentucky and a doctorate in higher education from the University of Virginia.
Kelley Stuck was named vice president and chief human resources officer at the University of Virginia. She has been serving as the interim vice president for human resources at the University of Missouri System.
Stuck is a graduate of Truman University in Kirksville, Missouri. She earned master’s degree in administration with a human resources concentration at the University of Central Michigan.
Tracy Foster was appointed executive director of the Henderson-Hopkins School in East Baltimore, Maryland. The K-8 school and early child development center is operated by the Johns Hopkins University School of Education and the Morgan State University School of Education and Urban Studies. Foster was the principal at Randle Highland Elementary School in the District of Columbia.
Foster holds a master’s degree in administration from Trinity Washington University and an executive master’s degree in leadership from Georgetown University.
Melissa Brown Roberts was promoted to executive director of the Moffitt Health Center on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. For the past five years, she has served as assistant director.
Dr. Roberts is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and earned her medical degree at the University of Mississippi.
Michelle V. Berry was promoted to vice president for academic operations and strategic finance at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She has been serving as associate vice president and joined the staff at the provost’s office at Baylor in 2010.
Berry holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Baylor University.
Deb Solfaro was appointed director of athletics, intramurals and recreation at the Abington campus of Pennsylvania State University. She was the director of athletics for Mansfield University of Pennsylvania.
Solfaro is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, where she majored in business administration and economics. She holds a master’s degree in sports administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Aimee Pfeifer was named registrar at West Virginia University in Morgantown. She joined the staff at the University in 2009 and has served as interim registrar for the past year.

Paula Short is the new director of communications in the Office of the President at the University of Montana. She was chief of the Forestry Assistant Bureau in the state’s Department of Natural Resources and Conservation.
