Megan Walsh has been named vice president for academic affairs at Edgewood University in Madison, Wisconsin. She will also hold a faculty appointment as a professor of English.
Prior to her new role, Dr. Walsh was dean and campus director of the University of Maine at Machias. Before joining the Maine administration in 2022, she spent more than a decade with St. Bonaventure University in New York. She served in several leadership capacities at St. Bonaventure, including director of the honors program, acting dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, and chair of the department of English. Earlier in her career, Dr. Walsh taught at Ohio State University.
A recently elected member of the American Antiquarian Society, Dr. Walsh focuses her scholarship on the print and visual culture of the early United States. She is the author of The Portrait and the Book: Illustration and Literary Culture in Early America (University of Iowa Press, 2017).

Dr. Walsh is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English and history. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in English from Temple University in Philadelphia.
