Maxine Lurie, professor emerita in the College of Arts and Sciences at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, has received an Award of Merit from the American Association for State and Local History for her latest book, which contains 650 historical photographs taken in New Jersey.
For the past 10 years, Gabrielle Gaustad has been on the faculty at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. Most recently, Dr. Gaustad was an associate professor and program coordinator for the master's degree program of the Golisano Institute for Sustainability at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

The honorees are Darla Goeres of Montana State University, Jean Wyld of Springfield College, Julia Overton-Healy of Alfred University, Tanja Dominko of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Christine A. Shoemaker of Cornell University.
