Pallavi Gogoi has been named executive director of the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism at Columbia University. Gogoi has served as NPR’s chief business officer for the past decade. Her background in journalism includes prior roles with CNN, the Associated Press, USA Today, Business Week, and The Wall Street Journal. She has also taught courses on economic narratives at both Columbia Journalism School and Princeton University.
Born and raised in India, Gogoi received her bachelor’s degree from SGTB Khalsa College and her master’s degree in English literature from Delhi University.
Juanita Womack is the new assistant vice provost and university register at Emory University in Atlanta. With more than 24 years of higher education experience, Womack has previously held admissions and enrollment management positions at American University in Washington, D.C., Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, Drexel University in Philadelphia, and Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Maryland.
Womack holds an MBA from Eastern University in St. Davids Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in higher education leadership from Walden University. She is completing work on doctorate in organizational leadership from Franklin University in Ohio.
Pacey Bowens is vice president of the division of business affairs at Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina. Dr. Bowens has an extensive background in business and financial leadership. Her prior experience in academia includes service as vice president for finance administration and chief financial officer at Tougaloo College in Jackson, Mississippi, and as associate vice president for finance at Arkansas Northeastern College.
Dr. Bowens holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting and an MBA in accounting from the University of Phoenix. She holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Arkansas State University.
Heather Loftin-Morris is the senior director of business, fiscal, and support services for facilities management at the University of Arkansas. Loftin-Morris first joined the university in 2022 and has more than 25 years of experience leading operational and financial strategies. In her new role, she will oversee budgeting, accounting, procurement, HR coordination, technology systems, and operational support across the university’s facilities management division.
Loftin-Morris earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of West Florida and her MBA from Webster University in Missouri.
Keyshawn Moncrieffe has been named director of research and compliance in the division of research and economic development at Morgan State University in Baltimore. In this role, she will serve as the university’s research integrity officer, providing oversight of the Research Security and Human Research Protection Programs.
Dr. Moncrieffe is a graduate of American InterContinental University, where she majored in business management. She holds an MBA and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Morgan State University.
Amy Ivey was promoted from interim chief to permanent chief of the Texas Tech University Police Department. A member of the department since 2012, Ivey most recently served as assistant chief of police. Throughout her time with Texas Tech, she has helped deliver crime prevention and community safety programs, organized and conducted training programs for both officer and external partners, and led numerous operational areas within the department.
Ivey is a graduate of West Texas A&M University and the South Plains Police Academy.
Fran’Cee Brown-McClure was appointed vice president for student affairs at Prairie View A&M University in Texas. Most recently, Dr. Brown-McClure was associate vice president and dean of students at Louisiana State University. She has previously served as vice president for student affairs at Jackson State University in Mississippi, vice president for student affairs and dean of students at Union College in New York, dean of students at Spelman College in Atlanta, and associate dean of residential education at Stanford University in California.
Dr. Brown-McClure is an alumna of Jackson State University, where she majored in psychology. She holds a master of social work degree from Boston University and a Ph.D. in educational administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Nakia Pugh was promoted from interim register to permanent university registrar at the University of the District of Columbia. Pugh has more than 15 years of higher education experience in academic records administration, institutional policy, student information systems, and regulatory compliance. Before her interim appointment in 2024, Pugh served as the university’s associate registrar for six years.
Pugh holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Delaware State University and a master’s degree in administration from Trinity Washington University.
Rachel Guettler was named vice president for growth and advancement at California Lutheran University. Dr. Guettler comes to her new role after 12 years with Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where she most recently served as vice chancellor for development. Earlier in her career, she was the assistant director of admissions and career advancement for AMDA College of the Performing Arts, which has campuses in New York City and Los Angeles.
A graduate of Florida State University, Dr. Guettler holds a master’s degree from California State University, Northridge, and a doctorate in organizational leadership from Pepperdine University.
Tanya Giddings is associate vice president of finance and operations at Central New Mexico Community College. Giddings comes to her new appointment with more than two decades of leadership experience spanning higher education, government, public administration, and strategic operations. Most recently, she was director of government and community relations at Luna Community College in New Mexico.
A graduate of Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute, Giddings received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of New Mexico.
