Jaclyn Albin Named President of the American College of Culinary Medicine

Jaclyn Albin, associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, has been named president of the American College of Culinary Medicine, a national organization focused on culinary medicine education, clinical care, and research.

Dr. Albin is founding director of UT Southwestern’s culinary medicine program, where she leads community-based culinary medicine education and instruction. With a focus on both the treatment of existing conditions and disease prevention, the program aims to empower people to have a thriving relationship with the food they eat.

A faculty member since 2014, Dr. Albin also serves as associate program director for UT Southwestern’s internal medicine-pediatrics residency. In 2025, she was appointed by Texas Governor Gregg Abbott to a four-year term on the state’s Nutrition Advisory Committee, which aims to develop nutritional guidelines for Texas residents.

Dr. Albin is a graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in religion, chemistry, and biology. She received her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and completed residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
