Tracy Morris Selected as the Eleventh President of Illinois Valley Community College

Tracy Morris will be the next president of Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby. She will become the eleventh president of the college on July 1. Dr. Morris is the first Illinois Valley Community College graduate to be named president of the college.

Illinois Valley Community College enrolls just under 2,500 students, according to the most recent statistics available from the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 59 percent of the student body.

Dr. Morris currently is the compliance officer at Joliet Junior College in Illinois. Prior to joining Joliet Junior College in 2018, she was vice president of student services at Illinois Central College. Earlier, she was on the staff at Illinois Valley Community College for 13 years, serving as associate vice president for student services, director of admissions and records, and counselor and orientation coordinator.

“IVCC has been an important part of my life since I was a young child and it is a dream come true to be able to return to serve as the president for the college that has meant so much to me and to my family,” Dr. Morris said.

Dr. Morris earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Illinois University. She holds a master’s degree in education counseling and a doctorate in adult and higher education and from Northern Illinois University,
