Melissa Mazan was named interim dean of the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. Dr. Mazan, a professor of large animal internal medicine at the university, is known for her work in equine veterinary medicine. Throughout her tenure at Tufts, she has served as associate dean for professional education, associate chair of clinical sciences, director of the Isaam M. Fares Equine Sports Medicine Program at the Hospital for Large Animals, and director of the Tufts Equine Bronchoalveolar Lavage Cytology Laboratory. Her research has included studies in physiology, regenerative medicine, stem cell science, and respiratory disease.
Dr. Mazan is a graduate of Yale University, where she majored in history. She received her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Tufts University.
Jenn Snow is dean of the Phyllis J. Washington College of Education at the University of Montana. Dr. Snow comes to her new role from Boise State University in Idaho, where she was a professor and program area coordinator for the department of teaching, learning, and community engagement. She first joined Boise State in 2003 and served as interim dean of the College of Education from 2019 to 2022 after serving five years as associate dean for teacher education.
Dr. Snow holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Pennsylvania State University.
Amanda Durik has been selected to serve as interim dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Northern Illinois University. Dr. Durik, a professor of social and organizational psychology, has been with the university for 21 years. She currently serves as chair of the department of psychology. Prior to her new interim role, Dr. Durik was associate dean for undergraduate affairs in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Durik received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, and her Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
