Kimberly T. Kostelis Selected to Lead Central Connecticut State University

Kimberly T. Kostelis has been selected to serve as interim president of Central Connecticut State University.

According to the U.S. Department of Education’s most recent data, Central Connecticut State University enrolls nearly 8,200 undergraduates and more than 1,800 graduate students. Women represent 46 percent of the undergraduate student population.

Dr. Kostelis began her career with Central Connecticut State University more than 20 years ago as an assistant professor of physical education and human performance. Since then, she has served in several key leadership roles, including department chair and dean of the School of Education. For the past five years, Dr. Kostelis has been the university’s provost and vice president for academic affairs.

“Central has been an integral part of my story. It’s where I started and built my career, where I’ve built lasting relationships and community, and where I’ve had the opportunity to play a role in shaping the lives of so many students,” said Dr. Kostelis. “We have a lot to be proud of at Central. The students, the faculty, and the staff are the heart of this campus. I am committed to serving the institution, and I am confident that together we will continue to strengthen Central and the impact we have on our students and communities.”

Dr. Kostelis is a graduate of McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. She received her master’s degree and her doctorate from Springfield College in Massachusetts.
