Fiona Doyle was named dean of the Graduate Division at the University of California, Berkeley. Since 1998, Dr. Doyle has served as the Donald H. McLaughlin Professor of Mineral Engineering. She joined the faculty at Berkeley in 1983.
Dr. Doyle is a graduate of the University of Cambridge. She earned her master’s degree and doctorate in hydrometallurgy from Imperial College at the University of London
Deirdre Sato was appointed dean of international education at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She was director of international programs and services at Purchase College, a campus of the State University of New York.
Dr. Sato is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She holds a master’s degree in higher education administration and a doctorate in international education from New York University.
Melanie D. Wilson was named dean of the University of Tennessee College of Law. She has been serving as professor of law, associate dean for academic affairs, and director of diversity and inclusion at the University of Kansas School of Law. She will begin her new job on July 1, 2015.
Professor Wilson holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a law degree from the University of Georgia.
Mary Farmer-Kaiser is the new dean of the Graduate School at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. She has been serving as interim dean since August 2013. Since 2000, Dr. Farmer-Kaiser has served on the history department faculty at the university.
Professor Farmer-Kaiser is a graduate of Kansas State University. She holds a master’s degree from Clemson University and a Ph.D. in history from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
