Uma Reddy is the inaugural Mary Lake Polan MD, PhD, MPH Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at the Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Reddy recently returned to Yale last year as executive vice chair of the department of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences. She first joined the Yale faculty in 2018, but left in 2022 to serve as the Virgil G. Damon Professor and vice chair of research at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and professor of population and family health at the Columbia School of Public Health. A recognized authority in maternal-fetal medicine, Dr. Reddy has fundamentally advanced the understanding of stillbirth, neonatal morbidity and mortality, and labor management and its impact on maternal outcomes.
Dr. Reddy earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and her medical degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She received her master of public health degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology. She later completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Carolyn J. Anderson has been named a University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge National Laboratory Governor’s Chair for Nuclear Medicine: Radiopharmaceutical Therapies. Dr. Anderson will also hold a joint appointment as a faculty member in the university’s Tickle College of Engineering and a researcher with Oak Ridge’s Isotope Science and Engineering Directorate. She most recently served as a professor in medicinal chemistry and radiology at the University of Missouri, where she previously co-created and directed the university’s Molecular Imaging and Theranostics Center. In her lab, Dr. Anderson focuses on designing and evaluating novel radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging and targeted radiotherapy.
Dr. Anderson received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from Florida State University. She conducted postdoctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis.
Laura Murray-Kolb is the inaugural Sharon Rulon Broadhead Head of Nutrition Science at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Dr. Murray-Kolb first joined Purdue in 2021 as a professor and head of the department of nutrition science. Earlier, she spent a decade on the faculty at Pennsylvania State University, ultimately serving as head of the graduate programs in nutritional sciences. Through integrating foundations in nutrition, child development, and cognitive psychology, Dr. Murray-Kolb studies the neurophysiological and neuropsychological consequences of micronutrient deficiencies, particularly among young mothers and their children.
Dr. Murray-Kolb is a three-time graduate of Pennsylvania State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in premedicine, a master’s degree in nutrition, and a Ph.D. in nutritional sciences. She also completed postdoctoral research in psychology and human development and family studies at Penn State.
