Emily Rothman is assistant provost for general education at Boston University. Dr. Rothman, a faculty member since 2004, has been serving as chair of the occupational therapy department and associate dean for strategic initiatives in the Sargent College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences. As a social epidemiologist, she is known for her work in violence and injury prevention and autism research.
Dr. Rothman is a graduate of Wesleyan University in Connecticut, where she majored in English literature. She holds two master’s degrees and a doctorate in social and behavioral sciences from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Jennifer Hunter is a new assistant professor of pediatric dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Hunter recently completed a residency in pediatric dentistry at VCU, following nearly a decade in private practice. She is the first pediatric dentistry resident at the university’s School of Dentistry to transition to a faculty appointment in 12 years.
Dr. Hunter is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. She earned her doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Michigan.
Stephanie A. Beavers is senior associate dean for the Mercer University School of Medicine’s campus in Macon, Georgia. Dr. Beavers first joined the school’s faculty in 2018 and has served as senior associate dean of academic affairs and vice dean of academics and administration since 2023. Most of her current clinical and teaching efforts are devoted to the inpatient service at Navicent Health, where she organizes the simulation and board review curricula for internal medicine residents.
Dr. Beavers is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she majored in biology. She received her medical degree from Mercer University.
Parisa Saboori is associate dean of the School of Engineering at Manhattan University in New York. She has been serving as chair of the university’s department of mechanical engineering. Her research has contributed to the understanding of traumatic brain injury in a wide range of circumstances. Dr. Saboori has also studied ACL injuries in women athletes, leading her to develop a new knee brace designed to reduce leg injuries in women’s sports.
Dr. Saboori is a graduate of Bu Ali Sina University in Iran, where she majored in mechanical engineering. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the City University of New York.
Shaundra Daily has joined the University of Tennessee faculty as a professor in the College of Communication and Information. In her research, Dr. Daily analyzes, designs, and builds sociotechnical systems — the interactions between people, technology, and social structures — to expand participation and achievement in STEM fields. Prior to her new appointment, she was the Cue Family Professor of the Practice in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University.
Dr. Dailey received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the Florida A&M University-Florida State University College of Engineering. She holds a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab.
