Janna L. Deitz was appointed director of development and corporate partnerships for the College of Engineering and Technology at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Dr. Deitz brings experience in higher education, nonprofits, and federal government to her new role. She has held leadership roles with the U.S. Capitol Historical Society, the Library of Congress, and the American Political Science Association. Dr. Deitz previously taught political science at Western Illinois University.
Deitz holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a master’s degree in public affairs from Western Carolina University, and a doctorate in political science from the University of Georgia.
Antionette Marbray was named vice president for external relations and general counsel at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. She comes to her new role from Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Maryland, where she has been serving as vice president for legal affairs and government relations. Earlier, Marbray was an associate vice president at San Diego State University in California.
A graduate of the University of South Florida, Marbray earned her juris doctorate from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and her master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Florida.
Gwendolen M. Pechan has been appointed vice president for information services at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. Pechan has spent the past seven years with Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, where she most recently served as vice president of information technology and chief information officer. Earlier in career, she was director of information technology for health sciences at the University of Pittsburgh.
Pechan is a three-time alumna of the University of Pittsburgh, where she received a bachelor’s degree in information sciences, an MBA, and a master’s degree in management and information systems.
Christine A. Nelson was appointed vice president for diversity affairs and special advisor on tribal relations at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. A scholar of higher education. Dr. Nelson most recently served as an associate professor and department chair in the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver. Dr. Nelson also held senior administrative roles supporting institutional equity and Indigenous initiatives.
Dr. Nelson earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Arizona.
Cindy Galindo has been named senior vice president for university advancement at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She previously held leadership roles in advancement at the University of Southern California, the California Institute of Technology, Claremont McKenna College, and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Most recently, Galindo led advancement efforts and served as a key partner to the president and CEO and board of directors for PBS SoCal.
Galindo holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from Oregon State University and a master of public administration degree from Portland State University in Oregon.
Karen Warren is the incoming chief information officer at Mount Holyoke College, a women’s liberal arts educational institution in South Hadley, Massachusetts. Warren comes to her new role from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, where has served as deputy chief information officer for the past decade. Earlier, she was the information technology director for the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, Connecticut.
Warren is an alumna of Mount Holyoke College, where she majored in English.
