New Administrative Roles for 14 Women in Higher Education

irlanda-jacintoIrlanda E. Jacinto is the new university archivist at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. She was a data and operations specialist at the Bunting Visual Resources Library at University of New Mexico.

Jacinto is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, where she double majored in anthropology and history. She earned a master of library and information science degree from the University of Arizona.

15-05-08-CPollardCindy Pollard was named associate vice president of marketing and communication for Texas Woman’s University. She is the former associate vice president in the Office of Strategic Communications for the University of Missouri System and the former director of public relations at Tufts University.

Pollard is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She holds a master’s degree in international communications from American University in Washington, D.C.

DonnaLeeDonna A. Lee was appointed vice president for student affairs at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She will begin her new duties on August 10. Since 2008, Lee has been on the staff at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, serving most recently as vice president for student life and dean of students.

Lee is a graduate of the University of Tampa and holds a master’s degree in counseling from Boston University.

hyattRegina Young Hyatt was selected as the next vice president for student affairs at Mississippi State University in Starkville. When she takes office on July 1, she will be the first woman to serve in the post in the university’s 137-year history. For the past four years Dr. Hyatt has been dean of students at the University of Alabama at Huntsville.

Dr. Hyatt holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees Western Illinois University in Macomb. She earned a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Pam  MoellerPam Moeller was promoted to director of external relations at the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory of the University of Southern Mississippi. For the past eight years, Moeller has been the assistant to the director of the laboratory.

Moeller holds a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University.

borenldLaura D. Boren was appointed vice president for student life at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. She was vice president for student affairs at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Dr. Boren holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northeastern State University. She earned a doctorate in higher education administration from Texas A&M University.

HubbellAnne Hubbell is the new interim associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at New Mexico State University. She is an associate professor of communication studies at the university. She joined the faculty at New Mexico State in 2000.

Dr. Hubbell is a graduate of Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in communication from Michigan State University.

Constance-DeVereauxConstance DeVereaux was appointed director of the Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Arts Advocacy, and the Public (LEAP) Institute for the Arts at Colorado State University. She joined the faculty at Colorado State in 2013 after teaching at Northern Arizona University.

Dr. DeVereaux is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles. She holds a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from Antioch University in Los Angeles and a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in philosophy and political science from Claremont Graduate University.

Ana de Bettencourt DiasAna de Bettencourt-Dias is the new associate vice president for research at the University of Nevada at Reno. She is a professor of chemistry at the university. She joined the faculty in 2007 after teaching at Syracuse University in New York.

Dr. Bettencourt-Dias is a graduate of the University of Lisbon in Portugal. She earned a Ph.D. at the University of Cologne in Germany.

sagersCynthia Sagers was named vice president for research at Oregon State University in Corvallis. She has been serving as associate vice provost for research and economic development at the University of Arkansas. She joined the faculty at the University of Arkansas in 1994.

Dr. Sagers is a graduate of the University of Iowa and holds a Ph.D. in biology from the University of Utah.

brogdon_kristen_newsSidebarKristen D. Brogdon was appointed director of the Office of the Arts at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She is the former general manager of Hubbard Street Dance Center in Chicago.

Brogdon is a graduate of Duke University, where she majored in economics. She holds a master’s degree in business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

RodriquezLiliana Rodriguez was named the inaugural vice chancellor for campus life and inclusive excellence at the University of Denver in Colorado. She has been serving as associate dean of diversity, inclusion, and community development at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Rodriguez is a graduate of Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

jacobsKathleen E. Jacobs was selected as the next chief investment officer for New York University. In this role, she will oversee the university’s $3.5 billion endowment. She has been serving as the managing director of the Office of Investments at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

Jacobs is a graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.

hauverDorothy A. Hauver was appointed vice president of administration and finance at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. She has served in the post on an interim basis since February and formerly was director of finance.

A certified public accountant, Hauver earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
