Dr. Geneco comes to her new role from Tufts University in Massachusetts, where she has served as provost for the past four years. She is slated become the University at Buffalo's first woman president on August 10.
The deans are Lynne Allen at Boston University, Hilary Smith Risser at the University of Montana Western, Pamela Swett at the University of Rhode Island, Amy S. Thompson at Montclair State University in New Jersey, and Kandice Chuh at the City University of New York Graduate Center.

The appointments are Aviva Abosch at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute, a clinical partner of Florida International University, Margarita Guillory at Boston University, and Karen Thole at Pennsylvania State University.
Judith Gonyea of Boston University and Kelly Meleiks of the University of Vermont are the authors of a new paper that sheds light on the daily struggles of women in their 50s who are experiencing homelessness.
Dr. Cooper Whitehead brings extensive experience in student affairs and academic leadership to her new role. She comes to Regis university from Boston College, where she has served as vice president of student affairs since 2021.
Dr. Gertsman, distinguished university professor at Case Western Reserve University, recently received one of the highest honors in art history education: the Distinguished Teaching of Art History Award from the College Art Association.
Dr. Wade-Gayles taught English and women's studies at Spelman College in Atlanta for over four decades. Her scholarship centered on African American women's literature.
The National Academy of Education has elected 19 distinguished education scholars and leaders to its membership. Of the 19 new members of the National Academy of Education, 12 are women.
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke at the National Institutes of Health recently presented its 2025 Landis Award for Outstanding Mentorship to Stephanie R. Jones, professor of neuroscience at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
