Nadine Kaslow to Lead the American Psychological Association

Nadine J. Kaslow, professor and vice chair of the department of psychology at Emory University in Atlanta, was chosen as president-elect of the American Psychological Association. She will serve for one year as president-elect and become president of the association in 2014.

The American Psychological Association is the largest scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States. The organization is the world’s largest association of psychologists, with more than 137,000 researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants and students as its members.

Dr. Kaslow holds a joint appointment in the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory. She is the chief psychologist for the Grady Health System and is the staff psychologist for the Atlanta Ballet Company. She is the senior editor of the Journal of Family Psychology. Professor Kaslow is a past president of the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Prior to joining the faculty at Emory University in 1990, she was an assistant professor at the Yale School of Medicine. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Houston and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Wisconsin.
