Dr. Singh is the associate dean for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the College of Education at the University of Georgia. Additionally, she is a professor of counseling in the human services department. Dr. Singh will begin her term as president in January.
Nadine J. Kaslow, professor and vice chair of the department of psychology at Emory University in Atlanta, was chosen as president-elect of the American Psychological Association. She will serve for one year as president-elect and become president of the association in 2014.
Women have been elected the next presidents of the American Sociological Association, the American College of Sports Medicine, and one of the largest divisions of the American Psychological Association.
