Lorin Basden Arnold Appointed Provost at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania

Lorin Basden Arnold has been named provost and vice president for academic affairs at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. She will take office on June 28.

Kutztown University, located between Allentown and Reading, is one of 14 campuses of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher education. It enrolls about 7,200 undergraduate students and nearly 1,000 graduate students according to the latest data available from the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 56 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Dr. Basden Arnold comes to Kutztown University from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She has served as provost and vice president for academic affairs for the past three years. She is also a professor of communication at the university. Earlier, Dr. Basden Arnold spent seven years as dean of the College of Communication and Creative Arts at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey.

Dr. Basden Arnold holds a bachelor’s degree in communication/public relations, a master’s degree in public affairs/issue management, and a doctorate in interpersonal communication, all from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
