Dr. Basden Arnold comes to Kutztown University from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She has served as provost and vice president for academic affairs for the past three years. She is also a professor of communication at the university.

Ann K. Ferrell, an assistant professor of folk studies at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, has been named the recipient of the 2014 Wayland D. Hand Prize for the outstanding book on historical and folkloristic perspectives from the American Folklore Society.
The 10 women taking on new roles are Colleen Preuninger, Michele Halstead, Caroline Dowd-Higgins, Michele Deramo, Kimberly Conway Dumpson, Marina Markot, Tracie Hunter, Eunice Bellinger, Carol Kim, and Sonja Bennett.
