Amy Iwano was appointed executive director of the University of Chicago Presents, which offers classical and other music performances at venues across the university’s campus. The University of Chicago Presents was founded in 1903.
Previously, Iwano was executive director of Chicago Chamber Musicians. Iwano is a graduate of Pomona College in California, where she played harp in the college orchestra. She has also studied at the Goethe Institute in Berlin and the Sorbonne in Paris.
Laceye Warner was named executive vice dean of the Duke University Divinity School. Dr. Warner joined the faculty at the divinity school in 2001 and has been serving as associate dean for academic formations and programs, associate professor, and the Royce and Jane Reynolds Teaching Fellow. She previously taught at Northwestern University.
Dr. Warner is a graduate of Trinity University. She holds a master of divinity degree from Duke and a Ph.D. from the University of Bristol.
Matha Thornton will be the next vice president of student affairs and dean of students at Randolph College in Lynchburg, Virginia. Her appointment is effective on July 1. She has been serving as associate dean of student life at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York.
Dr. Thornton is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned a master’s degree from Florida State University and an educational doctorate from the University of Virginia.
Paula Casey was appointed interim dean of the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She served on the faculty at the law school from 1978 to 1993. She then served as chief counsel for U.S. Senator Dale Bumpers and as U.S. Attorney for the eastern district of Arkansas. She rejoined the law school’s faculty in 2001.
Professor Casey is a graduate of East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, and the University of Arkansas School of Law.
Karethy Edwards was named associate dean for academic programs at the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Edwards was a professor and co-director of the Center for Cultural Competency and Healthcare Excellence at the University of Oklahoma. She is co-editor of the Journal of Cultural Diversity.
Dr. Edwards is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma. She holds a master’s degree and a doctor of public health degree from the University of Oklahoma. And she completed a post-master’s nurse practitioner certificate program from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
Linnea GlenMaye was appointed associate provost for administration and outreach at Wichita State University in Kansas. She had been serving as director of the School of Social Work at Wichita State.
Dr. GlenMaye is a graduate of the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota. She holds a master of social work degree and a Ph.D. in social welfare from the University of Washington.
Lynn Johnson was promoted to the position of vice president of human resource services at Stony Brook University in New York. She was assistant vice president of human resource services at the university. She has been on the staff at Stony Brook for more than 20 years. Before coming to Stony Brook, she worked for three local education authorities in England.
Elaine Clark was named vice president for real estate and infrastructure planning at the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities Board of Regents for Higher Education. She has been serving as executive director of facilities, real estate, and planning at the University of Maine.
Clark is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts and the Western New England College School of Law.
