Christine Siegel Appointed Provost at Fairfield University in Connecticut

Fairfield University in Connecticut has announced that Christine Siegel has been selected to serve as the university’s provost, effective July 1. Since January 2017, she has served as interim provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. Earlier, she was vice provost.

Fairfield University, a Roman Catholic-affliated educational institution in the southwest corner of the state, enrolls about 4,000 undergraduate students and 1,100 graduate students. Women make up 61 percent of the undergraduate student body.

After teaching at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Dr. Siegel joined the faculty at Fairfield University in 2005 as an assistant professor in the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions. She was promoted and granted tenure in 2008.

Dr. Siegel holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in educational psychology from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. She earned a Ph.D. in educational psychology and statistics from the University at Albany of the State University of New York System.
