There Are 21 New Distinguished Professors at SUNY: Four Are Women

The State University of New York System has announced the appointment of 21 faculty members to the rank of Distinguished Professors. Four of these appointments went to women.

Kathlyn A. Parker is a member of the department of chemistry at Stony Brook University. She is an internationally known scholar in the field of organic synthesis. Her more than 130 research papers and reviews in high-profile journals have garnered more than 1,600 citations. Professor Parker is a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She earned a Ph.D. at Stanford University in California.

Ann S. Botash is a professor and vice chair of the department of pediatrics at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. She is an expert in child abuse. Professor Botash is a graduate of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she majored in biology. She earned her medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University.

Julie Ann Woodworth is a member of the department of nursing and allied health at Niagara County Community College. She has implemented evidence-based teaching techniques that support student engagement and learning. Dr. Woodworth is a graduate of Daemen College in Amherst, New York. She earned a master’s degree at D’Youville College in Buffalo and a Ph.D. from Nova Southeastern University.

Bonni C. Hodges  is a professor in the department of health at SUNY Cortland. She is co-author of the book, Assessment and Planning in Health Programs (Jones & Bartlett, 2nd Edition, 2010). Dr. Hodges has made over 90 presentations at professional conferences across the United States. Dr. Hodges received a doctorate in health education from the University of Maryland – College Park.
