Eight Women Taking on New Administrative Duties in Higher Education

crystal-pottsCrystal Potts was named director of state relations at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been serving as chief of staff for Howard Marklein, a Wisconsin state senator. She also served on the staff of the legislature’s Joint Finance Committee.

A native of Champlin, Minnesota, Potts is a 2010 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she double majored in Chinese and political science.

trosvigKelli Trosvig was named the inaugural vice president for information technology and chief information officer at the University of Michigan. She held the same position at the University of Washington.

Trosvig holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Washington.

farrah-gomesFarrah-Marie Gomes was appointed vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She has been serving in the post on an interim basis since April 1. In 2006, she was named the founding director of the North Hawaii Education and Research Center.

Dr. Gomes is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Hilo, where she majored in psychology and sociology. She holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Chaminade University in Honolulu and a Ph.D. in educational studies from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

conrath_tanyaTanya Conrath is the new associate director of the Innovation Center, a high-tech small business incubator on the campus of Ohio University in Athens. She was the entrepreneurial ecosystem network manager for TechGROWTH Ohio.

Conrath is a graduate of Ohio University, where she majored in communication. She earned a law degree at Ohio State University.

dodsonJenny Dodson was promoted to director of the Student Experience Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The center was formerly called the Office of Campus Life. Dodson joined the staff at the university in 2007 and most recently was associate director of the Office of Campus Life.

Dodson is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, where she majored in health science. She earned a master’s degree in higher education and leadership from the University of Arkansas.

riley_Angela Riley was appointed vice president and chief financial officer at Saint Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is the former vice president and chief financial officer for Imperial Plastics.

Riley is a 1984 graduate of Saint Catherine University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She holds an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

milavecElizabeth Milavec was appointed associate vice president for financial operations and controller at the University of Rochester in New York. For the past decade, she has served as associate vice president for finance and controller at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

Milavec is a magna cum laude graduate of Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, where she majored in accounting.

amy-martinAmy Martin is the new assistant dean for student success operations at Michigan State University. She was associate director of student success programs.

Dr. Martin earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan. She holds a master’s degree in counseling from Eastern Michigan University, and a Ph.D. in higher education, students affairs, from the University of Maryland, College Park.
