Three Women Academics Are Honored With Awards From National Groups

kossekEllen Ernst Kossek, the Basil S. Turner Professor of Management and the research director of the Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, received the Work Life Legacy Award from the Families and Work Institute.

Professor Kossek is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in organizational behavior from Yale University.

moxleyVirginia Moxley, dean and professor emerita in the College of Human Ecology at Kansas State University, received the 2014 Distinguished Service Award from the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. She served as dean of the College of Human Ecology from 2006 to 2013.

Dr. Moxley holds a bachelor’s degree in clothing and textiles, a master’s degree in family counseling, and a doctorate in education, all from Kansas State University.

juliedegraw-cropJulie DeGraw, dean of students and vice president for student life at Bluffton University in Ohio, received the Jane Hideko Higa Multicultural Competency and Advancement Award from the Association for Christians in Student Development. Dr. DeGraw has been on the staff at Bluffton University since 2011.

A graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dr. DeGraw earned a master’s degree in counseling at Michigan State University. She holds a second master’s degree and a doctorate in education from the University of Michigan.
