Four Women in New Faculty Posts

WingatePicLaricka R. Wingate was named director of the Center for Africana Studies at Oklahoma State University. She will continue in her role as associate professor of psychology and director of the Laboratory for the Study of Suicide Risk and Resilience at the university.

Dr. Wingate has been on the faculty at Oklahoma State University since 2006. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Florida State University. She also holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Florida State University.

stahrMargaret Stahr was promoted to associate professor of English and granted tenure at Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina. She has been on the college’s faculty since 2008. Earlier, she was an adjunct instructor of English and acting director of the Writing Center at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.

Dr. Stahr is a graduate of DePauw University and holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in English from the University of Pittsburgh.

robertsonFredika A. Robertson was appointed professor of internal medicine at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond. She will also serve as executive director of clinical research services for the Center for Clinical and Translational Research. She was a professor in the department of experimental therapeutics at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Robertson holds a Ph.D. in experimental therapeutics from the University at Buffalo’s School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Mamiseishvili-Kate Mamiseishvili was named chair of the department of rehabilitation, human resources, and communication disorders at the University of Arkansas. She is an associate professor of higher education at the university and has served as interim chair since last fall.

Dr. Mamiseishvili is a graduate of Akaki Tsereteli State University in the Republic of Georgia. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in educational leadership and policy analysis from the University of Missouri.
