Ten Women Appointed to Administrative Roles at Universities

Casey Gill has been named vice president for student development and chief student experience officer at the University of Dayton in Ohio. She comes to her new role from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, where she has served as vice president for student development and dean of students for the past decade.

Dr. Gill is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio, where she majored in biology. She holds a master’s degree in college student personnel and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Dayton.

Anna Corbitt has been promoted to test engineer at the National Center for Reliable Electric Power Transmission at the University of Arkansas. The electronics test facility focuses on advancing the nation’s energy-related technology in transportation, electric power grid, and exploration applications. Corbitt currently serves as a senior research assistant with the center.

Corbitt is a graduate of Southern Arkansas University, where she majored in engineering and physics. She received her master’s degree in electrical engineering and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas.

Kemberly Sistrunk Greene has been appointed associate vice president of institutional advancement at South Carolina State University. She has held several roles with the university’s advancement and athletics departments, including acting deputy director of athletics and senior woman administrator.

Greene holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Jeanna Sinn has been promoted to chief operating officer at Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut. An administrator with the university for the past 14 years, she most recently served as senior vice president of operations. Earlier in her tenure, she served in various positions focused on enrollment and retention.

Sinn holds a bachelor’s degree in community development and applied economics from the University of Vermont and an MBA in leadership and entrepreneurship from Post University.

Erika D. Ancrum has been promoted from interim vice president to permanent vice president of finance, administration, and business innovation at Edward Waters University in Jacksonville, Florida. She has been an administrator with the university for the past two years, most recently serving as associate vice president and controller.

Ancrum holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from Savannah State University, an MBA from Strayer University, and a master’s degree in accounting from Georgia Southern University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in higher education leadership from Clark Atlanta University.

Nicole Wessendorf has been named director of communications and public relations for the Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine and Health and Human Services. Most recently, she served as the public relations and community engagement manager at The Salvation Army Southern Nevada. Prior to that role, she was the communications and outreach coordinator for Economic Opportunity Board.

\Wessendorf earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communication and journalism with an emphasis on advertising from New Mexico State University.

Marianna Valdes-Fauli has been appointed associate vice president of student registration and financial services at the University of Pennsylvania. She most recently served as the assistant vice president of service and experience excellence at the University of Miami in Florida. Previously, she was chief of staff to the executive vice president and chief operating officer at the University of Miami.

Valdes-Fauli received her bachelor’s degree from Smith College, a liberal arts women’s college in Massachusetts. She holds a master’s degree in human resource development from Villanova University in Pennsylvania and a juris doctorate from the University of Florida.

Naja L. Muhammad has been named the inaugural director of alumni relations for the New York University Silver School of Social Work. She comes to NYU from Barnard College, a women’s college affiliated with Columbia University, where she was the senior associate director of alumnae relations. Earlier in her career, she was the assistant director of student engagement at Columbia University.

Muhammad received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Memphis in Tennessee and her master’s degree in higher and postsecondary education from Columbia University.

Liz Jones has been named the inaugural assistant director of research for the Center for Research and Programmable Plant Systems at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. With over two decades of research management experience, she most recently served as director of research and development for Embark Veterinary.

Dr. Jones is a graduate of the University of Sheffield in England where she majored in genetics. She holds a Ph.D. in plant genetics from Bangor University in Wales.

Lauren Ferrell has been named assistant vice president of pre-award services at Howard University in Washington, D.C. She comes to her new role from Harvard University, where she was associate dean for research administration. Previously, she held various administrative roles with the University of Southern California.

Ferrell has over two decades of experience in research administration.
