In Memoriam: Kelly Quin, 1969-2024

Kelly Quin, longtime administrator at Rice University in Houston, Texas, passed away on November 30 following an auto-pedestrian accident. She was 55 years old.

Quin’s career at Rice University spanned more than three decades. Her career began in 1993 as a lead budget analyst. In 1998, she was promoted to her most recent role as assistant vice president of campaign and constituent strategy. During her tenure, she spent nine years as an instructor in the Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership.

In her role as assistant vice president in the development and alumni relations office, Quin oversaw three fundraising campaigns and assisted with planning several events, including commencement and alumni weekend. She was previously honored by the university’s board of trustees for her outstanding efforts in donor engagement.

Quin received her bachelor’s degree in history and French studies from the University of Texas at Austin and her MBA in finance and marketing from the University of Houston.
