Deana Warner is vice president for finance and facilities and chief financial officer at Southwest Minnesota State University. Warner comes to her new role with three decades of financial leadership experience. Her background in higher education includes prior service as associate vice chancellor for budgeting and financial analysis at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where she oversaw the university’s budgeting, reporting, and financial planning.
A graduate of Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee, Warner holds a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Memphis.
Jane Chadwick is the human resources division director for the College of Natural Resources and Environment at Virginia Tech. Chadwick most recently served as director of human resources for Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers. Earlier in her career, she was director of human resources and learning and development at Sherman & Howard LLP.
Chadwick is a graduate of Ithaca College in New York, where she majored in speech communication. She holds a master’s degree in adult learning, training, and development from Regis University in Denver.
Kizzy N. Lea is chief financial officer and vice president of business operations at Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina. With more than 25 years of executive leadership experience within higher education and local government, Lea most recently served as chief operations officer and chief financial officer at Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She has also held financial leadership roles with Winston-Salem State University, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, and Guilford College, all in North Carolina.
Lea holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Guilford College and a master’s degree in accounting from Strayer University.
Katreshia Louis-Verrett has been appointed director of intercollegiate athletics at North Carolina A&T State University. Louis-Verrett’s appointment marks a return to the university, where she previously served as associate athletic director from 2011 to 2017. Most recently, she was deputy athletic director at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has also served as assistant athletic director at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Louis-Verrett holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in sports administration from the University of Miami. She earned a juris doctorate from the Southern University Law Center in Louisiana.
Becky Hall Frenkel has been appointed executive director of the Educational and Research Initiatives for Collaborative Health office at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Hall Frenkel comes to Rice from Houston Methodist Hospital, where she was vice president of strategy and academic affairs. Earlier in her career, she was a faculty member with the Baylor College of Medicine, where she studied cell signaling biochemistry and cancer diagnostics.
Hall Frenkel is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she majored in biochemistry. She completed her doctorate in immunology as well as a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular and cellular biology at Baylor College of Medicine.
Katelynn Potter was appointed coordinator for transfer services in the Center for Academic Excellence at Mississippi State University. She previously served as a transfer admissions counselor at the university. In her new role, Potter will focus on streamlining the transition for students arriving from community colleges and other institutions.
After starting her college education at Itawamba Community College in Fulton, Mississippi, Potter transferred to Mississippi State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations, advertising, and applied communication.
