Christine Murphy has been appointed associate dean for academic affairs in the Graduate School of the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences at Boston College. She comes to her new role from Harvard’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, where she served as director of special projects for the Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging. She previously served as associate dean for academic affairs at Princeton Graduate School.
Dr. Murphy is an honors graduate of Ursinus College in Pennsylvania, where she majored in chemistry. She holds a doctorate in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Shelby Gombosi has been promoted to associate director of the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities at Michigan State University. She most recently served as the center’s assistant director for case management, assessment, and program innovation. She has been a staff member with Michigan State University for nearly two decades.
Gombosi holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Michigan State University.
Katie Koncki has been named the inaugural assistant dean of student affairs for the School of Dentistry at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She previously served as the school’s director of student success and practice transitions. Earlier in her career, she held various academic and admissions advising positions with Marquette, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Koncki received her master’s degree in educational policy and leadership from Marquette University.
Bobbi Fields has been appointed vice president of academic affairs at Nicolet College in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. She has been a faculty member with the Wisconsin Technical College System for more than two decades. During her long tenure, she has held several roles including associate dean and dean.
Dr. Fields holds a doctorate in educational and community organizations from the American College of Education.
Dara McBee has been named director of strategy and operations for the Hamm Institute for American Energy at Oklahoma State University. For the past decade, she has worked at the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board, most recently as the senior director of communications. She previously served as the board’s communications coordinator and website administrator.
McBee earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in communication from the University of Oklahoma.
Seyvion Scott has been named the student engagement librarian in learning and academic engagement at Syracuse University Libraries. She previously held librarian roles with Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York, and Medaille University Library in Buffalo, New York.
Scott is a graduate of the University of Rochester, where she majored in African and African American studies. She holds a master’s degree in information science with a concentration in library and information services from the University at Albany.
Liz Morrell has been appointed director of public policy research for the University of North Caroina at Charlotte’s Urban Institute. Prior to taking on her new position, she was the strategic planning and historic, cultural, and community resources manager with Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation in Charlotte.
Dr. Morrell completed her bachelor’s degree at Purdue University in Indiana. She holds a master’s degree in geography and a Ph.D. in geography and urban and regional analysis from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Kimberly Guyer has been named vice president for college life at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She has been serving as the interim associate vice president and dean of students at Florida State University. Her background in higher education includes senior leadership positions with the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, Alfred University in New York, and Temple University in Philadelphia.
Dr. Guyer received her bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish from Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania and her master’s degree in human resources management from Hawai’i Pacific University. She earned a master’s degree in education and doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.
