Sharon Tucker is the Orlando Health Endowed Chair in Nursing at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Tucker first joined the university in 2024 as chair of the department of nursing practice and was named dean of the College of Nursing one year later. Previously, she held appointments at Ohio State University, the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and the Mayo Clinic. Her scholarship centers on psychiatric mental health nursing and evidence-based practice.
A graduate of the now-closed College of Saint Teresa in Minnesota, Dr. Tucker holds a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a Ph.D. in nursing from Rush University in Chicago.
Sarah Allred was named the inaugural Gerald Grob Endowed Legacy Professor at Rutgers University-Camden. A professor of psychology, Dr. Allred has previously served as director of the Senator Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs and associate dean for undergradaute education in the university’s College of Arts & Sciences. As a scholar, Dr. Allred studies visual perception and memory by leveraging research methods from behavioral psychophysics, computational modeling, and large-scale data analysis.
Dr. Allred received a bachelor’s degree in applied physics from Brigham Young University in Utah and a Ph.D. in neurobiology and behavior from the University of Washington.
Judith Wolfe was named the Joseph Chair for Catholic Systematic Theology at Boston College. Dr. Wolfe, a professor of philosophical theology at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, will begin her new appointment in Fall 2027. As a Catholic theologian, she focuses her work on systematic and philosophical theology. Dr. Wolfe’s most recent book, Theologians in Conversations: Formations and Vision in Continental Philosophical Theology, is set for publication in June 2026.
A native of Vienna, Dr. Wolfe completed her undergraduate studies in literature and interdisciplinary honors studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She holds a master’s degree in English literature and both a master’s degree and doctorate in theology, all from the University of Oxford.
Although it was initially founded as school for women, the University of Montevallo has never had a woman president. Now the university has reached a historic milestone and selected selected Michelle R. Johnston to serve as its next president.
The women who are taking on new leadership roles with professional academic organizations are Yasmeen Shorish of James Madison University in Virginia, Elena Carbone of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Shelley Lusetti of New Mexico State University, Oona Hathaway of Yale Law School, and Keisha Blain of Brown University.
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is a national program run by the University of California for the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science. Dr. Yelick, a computer scientist and longtime UC Berkeley faculty member, will become the laboratory's next director on July 1.
The selected candidate should have expertise and experience in theoretical models in labor and public economics as well as in microeconometrics and programming.
