Eight Women Taking on New Administrative Duties at Colleges and Universities

Amardeep Kahlon was appointed vice president of education and learning at Central New Mexico Community College. Dr. Kahlon has been serving as the vice president of academic affairs at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix.

Dr. Kahlon holds a master’s degree in computer science from Binghamton University in New York. She earned a doctorate in higher education leadership from the University of Texas at Austin.

Lynn Griffith, assistant vice president of university communication at Marquette University in Milwaukee, will be promoted to chief marketing and communication officer with responsibility for the university’s marketing and communication functions within the Office of University Relations.

Griffith holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations and an MBA from Marquette University.

April Purvis is the new executive secretary to the board of trustees at Clemson University in South Carolina. She was the chief operating officer and legal counsel for the Clemson University Foundation. Purvis originally joined the foundation in 2015 as director of gift management.

Purvis is a graduate o Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina, whre she majored in political science and mass communications. She holds a juris doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law.

Molly Hudgins is the new executive director of the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Alumni Association. She has been serving as deputy athletic director for administration and student services at the university. She was previously a faculty member and academic administrator at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, from 2003 to 2022.

Hudgins is a graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She earned a master’s degree at Florida State University and a juris doctorate from the University of Tennessee.

Julie Dierberger, the Paul Sather Distinguished Director of the Service Learning Academy at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, will be the university’s new chief engagement officer beginning in January 2024. Dr. Dierberger has led the Service Learning Academy since 2017.

Dr. Dierberger is a three-time graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English, a master’s degree in educational administration, and a Ph.D. in eductional studies.

Jennifer Mack was appointed the executive director of student services at Boston College. Since 2019, she has been director of student information systems at the college.

Mack is a graduate of what is now Simmons University in Boston. She earned an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Sarah McLin was promoted to director of admissions at Vincennes University in Indiana. McLin previously held the position of interim director of admissions. She also has served in various other admissions roles, including associate director of admissions, assistant director, and admissions counselor.

McLin is a graduate of Vincennes University, where she majored in technology with an agribusiness concentration. She earned an MBA at the University of Southern Indiana.

Madeline Anthes was named assistant dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. Anthes joins Kutztown University on December 4 after serving for 11 years at The College of New Jersey, most recently as associate director of student success in the Center for Student Success.

Anthes earned her bachelor’s degree in English and history from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. She went on to earn a master’s degree in English and a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvnia.

Two Women Selected for Key Interim Leadership Roles with the Universities of Wisconsin

Renée Wachter, chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Superior, has been selected to serve as interim president of the Universities of Wisconsin. Maria Cuzzo, provost of UW-Superior, will serve as the university's interim chancellor while Dr. Wachter assumes her new responsibilities.
