Alexia Hudson-Ward of MIT has been named president-elect of the Association of College and Research Libraries, Natalia Rost of Harvard Medical School has been named president of the American Academy of Neurology, and Ale Kennedy of Clemson University has been named chair-elect of the board for the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources.

The new deans are Jean Lee at St. Petersburg College in Florida, Kimberly Poole at Clemson University in South Carolina, Mary Edith Stacy at Northwestern State University in Louisiana, and Whitney Gregory at Elon University in North Carolina.

Presented annually by the Linnean Society of London, the Darwin-Wallace Medal recognizes outstanding research on evolutionary biology. Dr. Mackay was honored for her work on advancing the understanding of quantitative traits.

Dr. Crosby was the first Black woman to earn tenure as a professor of education at Clemson University. She was an active participant in the civil rights movement and a member of the "Greenville Eight" - a group of students whose protest ultimately lead to the desegregation of a public library in South Carolina.

The thre women appointed to endowed professorships are Noël Valis at Yale, Laura Finzi at Clemson University in South Carolina, and Amy Johnson at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

The women faculty members with new positions are Yue Wang at Clemson University in South Carolina, Margo Brooks Carthon at the University of Pennsylvania, Rebecca Sheehan at Oklahoma State University, and Jessica Folkart at Virginia Tech.

The new deans are Renee Butler at the University of West Georgia, Anna Carpenter at the University of Oklahoma, Ece Erdogmus at Clemson University, Debra Burns at the University of Memphis, and Gina Lovasi at Drexel University.
