Sandra Richtermeyer Will Be the Next Provost at Rutgers University Camden

Sandra Richtermeyer has been appointed executive vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at the Camden, New Jersey, campus of Rutgers University, effective June 14, 2023.

“I am honored and excited to work with Chancellor Tillis and the Rutgers–Camden community,” Dr. Richtermeyer said. “The university’s focus on research, academic excellence, and community engagement is an excellent fit based on how I have chosen to focus my life’s work. As a first-generation college student, I am inspired by the university’s commitment to educational access and serving diverse populations.”

The Camden campus, just to the east of Philadelphia, enrolls nearly 5,000 undergraduate students and more than 1,700 graduate students, according to the latest data available from the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 61 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Since 2016, Dr. Richtermeyer has served as the dean of the Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Earlier, she was a professor of accountancy and business law and associate dean of the College of Business at Xavier University in Cincinnati.

Dr. Richtermeyer is a graduate of the University of Wyoming, where she majored in management information systems and accounting. She holds a master’s degree in information systems from the University of Colorado Denver and an MBA and a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Colorado Boulder.
