Three Women Who Have Been Appointed to Dean Positions

Laurie Sharp has been named dean of the new University College at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. University College comprises the departments of Academic Advising, Career Services, Student Retention, Student Development and Mentoring, and the Tutoring and Learning Center. Prior to returning to Tarleton in 2019, Sharp served West Texas A&M University as an assistant professor in the department of education and as the Dr. John G. O’Brien Distinguished Chair in Education.

Dr. Sharp holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in elementary education from the University of Central Florida and earned her doctorate in educational leadership at Tarleton State University.

Jessica Collogan has been named dean of library services at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She was director of the Carl Swisher Library at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida.

Collogan holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and a master of library and information science degree from the University of South Florida.

Deb Moriarity was appointed interim dean of student affairs at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She is the former vice president for student affairs at Towson University in Maryland. Earlier, Dr. Moriarty served as the associate vice president for student affairs at the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

Dr. Moriarty received a bachelor’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University. She earned a master’s degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale and a Ph.D. in higher education from the University of California, Los Angeles.
