New Administrative Posts for Eight Women at Colleges and Universities

Eva W. Lewis was appointed vice provost for institutional effectiveness and academic planning at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She was assistant provost for strategy at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Lewis is a graduate of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. She earned an MBA at the Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.

Lisa R. Carter is the new vice provost for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries. She was associate director of special collections and area studies for the Ohio State University Libraries. Earlier, she was head of the Special Collections Research Center at North Carolina State University.

Carter is a graduate of Michigan State University. She holds a master of library and information science degree from the University of Michigan.

Regina D. Biddings-Muro was appointed vice president for university advancement at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. She was vice chancellor of institutional advancement at Purdue University Northwest in Indiana.

Dr. Biddings-Muro holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication and a master’s degree in communication from Purdue University. She earned a doctorate in higher education and organizational change at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.

Cynthia Sagers was named vice president of research in the Office of Knowledge Enterprise Development at Arizona State University. She was vice president for research at Oregon State University. Earlier, Dr. Sagers was associate provost for research at the University of Arkansas.

Dr. Sagers is a graduate of the University of Iowa, where she majored in biological sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Utah.

Allison L. Vetter is the new Title IX investigator at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. She was the Tile IX coordinator at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Earlier, she taught sociology at the University of Central Arkansas.

Dr. Vetter is a graduate of Doane University in Crete, Nebraska. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Jessica Perkins Smith was promoted to university archivist at Mississippi State University Libraries. She joined the staff at the university in 2016 as a manuscripts archivist. Earlier, she was an archivist at the Amistad Research Center in New Orleans.

Perkins is a graduate of Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. She earned a master of library and information science degree from Louisiana State University.

Sarah Bishop was named associate director of the Hall Center for the Humanities at the University of Kansas. She was the chief communications officer for the Lawrence Arts Center in Kansas.

Dr. Bishop is a magna cum laude graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She holds a Ph.D. in twentieth-century literature and film from the University of Virginia.

Paula Reed was appointed executive director of development for the WInship Cancer Center at Emory University. For the past decade, she has been vice president of development for the Rheumatology Research Foundation in Atlanta.

Earlier in her career, Reed served as director of development for Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and Stetson University’s College of Law in Gulfport, Florida.
