The Next Provost at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas

The next provost at the University of the Ozarks, Alyson GillAlyson A. Gill was appointed provost and chief academic officer at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas. The university enrolls about 700 students and women are 51 percent of the student body, according to the most recent U.S. Department of Education data.

Dr. Gill has been serving as associate provost for instructional innovation at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She also was an associate professor of art history. Dr. Gill joined the faculty at the University of Massachusetts in 2015. Earlier, she served for 15 years on the faculty at Arkansas State University.

Dr. Gill is an expert in Greek art and architecture. She is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where she majored in psychology. Dr. Gill holds a master’s degree in art history from the University of California, Irvine and a Ph.D. in history from the University of Memphis.
