Four Women Promoted to Full Professor at North Dakota State University

North Dakota State University in Fargo announced promotions and the awarding of tenure to 55 faculty members. Of these, four women were appointed to the rank of full professor.

archboldCarol Archbold was promoted to full professor of criminal justice and political science. She joined the faculty at North Dakota State in 2005. Professor Archbold holds bachelor’s and master’s degree in sociology from the University of North Dakota and a Ph.D. in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

MiriamMaraMiriam Mara was appointed full professor of English. She has been on the faculty at the university since 2006. Previously, she taught at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. Professor Mara is a summa cum laude graduate of Jacksonville University, where she majored in international studies. She holds a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Ph.D. in English from the University of New Mexico.

McGeorgeChristine McGeorge was named a full professor of human development and family science. She joined the faculty at North Dakota State University in 2003. Professor McGeorge is a graduate of the University of Arizona, where she majored in family studies. She holds a master’s degree from Colorado State University and a Ph.D. in family social science from the University of Minnesota.

wendyreedWendy Reed was promoted to professor of biological sciences. She has served on the faculty at the university since 2002 and has chaired the department of biological sciences since 2012. Dr. Reed is a graduate of Kalamazoo College in Michigan, where she majored in biology. She holds a Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology from Iowa State University.
