Karen A. Clinton Jones was named chief diversity officer at Buffalo State College. She was the executive director for equity and access at Virginia Tech. Previously, she was director of corporate diversity for Excellus BlueCross BlueShield in Rochester, New York.
Dr. Jones is a graduate of Buffalo State with a degree in criminal justice. She earned a master’s degree in counselor education at the College of Brockport and a doctorate in educational leadership and policy from the University at Buffalo.
Jennifer Shand Pitzer was named senior economic development specialist in the Office of Economic Development at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She was on the staff of the Economics Center at the University of Cincinnati.
Dr. Pitzer is a graduate of Miami University in Ohio. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in economics from Ohio State University.
Amy Jarich was appointed assistant vice chancellor and director of undergraduate admissions at the University of California at Berkeley. She has been serving a senior associate dean of admissions at the University of Virginia. She will take her new position on August 20.
Jarich is a graduate of Sweet Briar College in Virginia and holds a master’s degree from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.
Linda Snyder was named vice president for operations at Tufts University. She has been serving as vice president for campus planning and facilities at Dartmouth College. She will take her new post on October 9.
Snyder is a graduate of Utah State University and was a Loeb Fellow at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.
Harriet Davis was appointed associate vice chancellor for development at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. She was assistant vice president for corporate relations at Hampton University in Virginia.
Dr. Davis holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, all from North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro.
Linda Bonnin was promoted to vice president of communications, public relations, and marketing at the University of Memphis. She has been on the staff at the university since 1997, most recently serving as associate vice president in the same department.
Bonnin is a graduate of Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.
Brandi Hephner LaBanc is the new vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of Mississippi. She was associate vice president for student affairs at Northern Illinois University.
Dr. LaBanc is a graduate of the University of Akron. She earned an educational doctorate at Kent State University in Ohio.
Denita Siscoe was promoted to interim vice president for student affairs at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She was associate vice president of student development. Previously, she was associate vice president and dean of students at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Dr. Siscoe is a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Florida and a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of North Texas.
Rita Alloway, professor of medicine and director of the Transplant Clinical Research Program at the University of Cincinnati, was elected to the board of directors of the American Society of Transplantation, an international organization of transplant professionals.
Dr Alloway earned a doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee.
Pamela D. White was named director of compliance and conflict resolution at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She was the coordinator for equal opportunity programs at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.
White is a graduate of Florida State University and the law school of Nova Southeastern University.
Virginia Pellegrini is the new director of development for the College or Business and Economics at Boise State University in Idaho. She was director of corporate and foundation relations at the University of Idaho.
Pellegrini earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at Boise State University.
Destin Tucker was promoted to assistant director of admissions for recruitment at the University of Memphis. Since 2007, she has been coordinator of orientation and special events.
Tucker is a 2004 graduate of the University of Memphis and earned a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee.
Kate Brown was named chief operating officer at Yale University Press. She was the managing director of the technology, media, and telecom group at the Bank of America in New York.
Brown is a graduate of Brown University, where she majored in international relations and Russian studies. She earned a master’s degree from Stanford University.
Emily London-Jones was appointed director of student financial aid at Xavier University in New Orleans. For the past 12 years, she has been director of student financial aid and scholarships at the University of New Orleans. Previously, she was associate director of student financial aid at Xavier.
