Laura A. Talbot will be the next dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She will assume her new post in June. Currently, Dr. Talbot is the Dean W. Colvard Distinguished Professor in Nursing and professor in the College of Health and Human Services at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She also serves as director of the health services research Ph.D. program at the university. Dr. Talbot had a 30-year career in the U.S. Air Force where she commanded a medical squadron.
Professor Talbot is a graduate of the Incarnate Word College School of Nursing in San Antonio, Texas. She holds an educational doctorate and a Ph.D.
