Four Women Awarded Tenure at Lee University in Tennessee

leeULee University, which enrolls about 4,400 students at its campus in Cleveland, Tennessee, has announced the awarding of tenure to eight faculty members. Four of the faculty awarded tenure are women.

Stacey Isom joined the faculty at the university in 2007 as an assistant professor of creative writing. She holds a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from Old Dominion University in Virginia.

Sherry Kasper joined the faculty in 2007 as an assistant professor of biology. Previously, she was a postdoctoral research assistant in the department of surgery at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Kasper is a graduate of Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee, and holds a Ph.D. from the School of Medicine at Wake Forest University.

Christine Williams joined the faculty in 2007 as an assistant professor of theatre. At the university she has directed or produced more than 20 theatrical productions. Dr. Williams is a graduate of the University of Dallas. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

Lisa Stephenson was appointed an assistant professor of systematic theology at Lee University in 2007. Dr. Stephenson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Lee University and earned a Ph.D. at Marquette University in Milwaukee. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the role of women in the church.
