Indiana University has announced four finalists for chancellor of the Indiana University East campus in Richmond and four finalists for chancellor at Indiana University South Bend. There are two women finalists for chancellor at the South Bend campus and three of the four finalists at the Richmond campus are women. One woman is a finalist for both positions. All candidates will visit these campuses by the end of the month for interviews and public forums.
Here are the women finalists for chancellor of Indiana University East in Richmond:
Martha Venn is provost and vice president for academic affairs at Macon State College in Georgia. From 2005 to 2008, she was the founding dean of the college’s School of Education. She then spent a year as senior executive director for educator preparation for the University of Georgia system. Dr. Venn holds a doctorate in special education from the University of Illinois.
Kathy Cruz-Uribe is provost and vice president for academic affairs at California State University Monterey Bay. She has held that post since 2007. She is the former dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Northern Arizona University. Dr. Cruz-Uribe holds a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Chicago.
Barb Jones is vice president for student affairs at Miami University in Ohio. From 2000 to 2008, Dr. Jones was assistant chancellor for student affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. From 1990 to 2000, she served as associate vice president for student affairs at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Dr. Jones holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana University in Bloomington. She earned a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Minnesota.

Barb Jones is also a finalist for chancellor at the South Bend campus of Indiana University.
Joining her as a finalist at the South Bend campus is Anne Huot, provost and vice president of academic affairs at the College at Brockport, part of the State University of New York system. She is the former executive vice provost and director of the office of academic affairs for the SUNY system. Dr. Huot holds a Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology from the University of Vermont.
Dr. Cautin, provost of Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, brings over two decades of higher education experience to her new role as president of Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts. She is slated to begin her presidency on July 1.
John Cabot University is a private American University based in Rome, Italy. Dr. Maioni, currently a professor at McGill University in Canada, is slated to become John Cabot's first woman president on July 1.
The Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities is a national organization that supports Jesuit higher education institutions in the United States, Belize, and Canada. Dr. Murray, who currently serves as senior vice president for student development and mission at the College of the Holy Cross, is slated to become the association's next president on June 2.
Dr. Slater comes to her new role from Marist University in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she has been serving as senior associate provost, dean of science, and professor of biology.
Dr. Peña brings over three decades of higher education experience to her new role as president and CEO of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education. Her background includes key leadership roles with several universities across the country.
