Fourteen Women With New Administrative Posts in Higher Education

Elizabeth Loizeaux is the new associate provost for undergraduate affairs at Boston University. She was the associate dean for academic affairs in the College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Maryland in College Park. Dr. Loizeaux will also be a member of the English department faculty at Boston University.

A scholar of 20th-century poetry, Dr. Loizeaux is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.

Carole R. Eldridge was named director of graduate programs at the Chamberlain College of Nursing, headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois. From 2010 to 2011, she was president of the Houston campus of the Chamberlain College of Nursing. Previously, Dr. Eldridge was campus dean of nursing at the Dallas campus of West Coast University and dean of nursing at Southwest Baptist University in Springfield, Missouri.

Dr. Eldridge is a graduate of Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a doctor of nursing practice degree from Rush University in Chicago.

Karen M. Landolt was appointed director of the new Career Interview and Recruiting Center at the University of Texas at Austin. She was the director of the Career Design Center at the university’s College of Natural Sciences.

Landolt is a graduate of the University of Texas and the Northeastern University School of Law in Boston.

Mary Delany was named interim dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of California Davis. Since 2009 she has been an associate dean and has held the John and Joan Fiddyment Endowed Chair in Agriculture. She first joined the faculty at UC Davis in 1995.

Dr. Delany is a graduate of Montclair State University in New Jersey. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in animal genetics from Cornell University.

Chacona W. Johnson was selected as associate vice president for principal gifts at Wayne State University and executive vice president of the Wayne State University Foundation. She has been serving as president of the Detroit Public Schools Foundation. She is the former chief of staff for the president and associate vice president for development at the University of Michigan. She will begin her new role on November 5.

Johnson is a graduate of St. Augustine’s College in Raleigh, North Carolina. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from Ohio State University.

Christie St-John was named director of admissions at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. Since 2004 she has served as the senior associate director of admissions and recruiting at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Previously, she was the director of international relations for the business school at Vanderbilt.

Dr. St-John holds master’s and doctoral degrees from Vanderbilt University.

Sarah Schroth was appointed interim director of the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University. She has been serving as the Nancy Hanks Senior Curator at the museum, having joined the university’s staff in 1995.

Dr. Schroth holds a Ph.D. from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University.

Stephanie Karp is the new director of operations for the department of public safety at Princeton University. For the past four years she has been director of operations and external affairs for the division of public safety at the University of Pennsylvania.

Karp is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and the Temple University School of Law.

Margaret Stephens was named special assistant to the vice president for institutional advancement at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She is taking a two-year leave of absence from her post as a senior project adviser at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. At Claflin, she will focus on raising funds for the building of a new Science and Technology Center on campus.

Stephens is a 1974 graduate of Claflin University.

Myra Moore was appointed director of assessment, rankings, and undergraduate programs in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. She was director of assessment and coordinator of graduate teaching assistants in the college’s department of economics. She will continue in her role as a senior lecturer.

Dr. Moore is a graduate of Radford College. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Georgia.

Elizabeth Worth was named assistant director of admission at North Dakota State University. She joined the staff at the admissions office in 2009.

Worth holds a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in counseling from North Dakota State University.

Colleen O’Connor Bench was appointed assistant vice president for the division of student affairs at Syracuse University in New York. She joined the university’s staff in 1991 and for the past 20 years has been director of the Parents Office.

Bench is a graduate of Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York. She holds a master’s degree in higher education from Syracuse University.

Erin Owen was promoted to director of the Office of Marketing at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She has been serving as director of communications for the graduate studies program at the university.

Owen holds a bachelor’s degree in business communication from the University of Kansas.

Yvonne Kilpatrick was appointed assistant dean and director of the Office of Graduate Admissions at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. She has served as interim director of the office for the past two years. Previously, she was director of graduate admissions at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

Kilpatrick is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee. She earned a master’s degree and is currently completing work on a doctorate at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.
