The School of Communication at American University in Washington, D.C., has announced the hiring of four new faculty members who will begin teaching this fall. Three of the new appointees are women.
Alice Arnold is a professional lecturer in film and media arts. She previously taught at Parsons The New School for Design in New York City and the City University of New York. Arnold holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California at Los Angeles and a master of fine arts degree from Hunter College of the City University of New York.
Jayne Cubbage is a professional lecturer in journalism. She previously taught at Catholic University of America, George Washington University, James Madison University, Lincoln University, and Howard University. She is a former multimedia producer for Bloomberg News.
Dr. Cubbage is a graduate of Temple University. She earned master’s degrees at Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in mass communication and media studies at Howard University.
Corinne Hoare was hired as an instructor in public communication. She was the strategic outreach director for the nonprofit organization, Public Notice. Hoare is the former director of communications for the Office of Management and Budget at the White House.
Hoare is a graduate of the University of California at San Diego. She holds a master’s degree in public communication from American University.
