Damara Goff Paris was named the John E. King Endowed Professor at Emporia State University in Kansas. She joined the faculty in 2014 and is a full professor of counselor education in the School of Applied Health Sciences. She is the co-editor of Deaf People in the Criminal Justice System: Selected Topics on Advocacy, Incarceration, and Social Justice (Gallaudet University Press, 2021).
Dr. Paris completed a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling with the deaf at Western Oregon University. She holds a doctorate in deaf education and deaf studies from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
Mara Rudman has been appointed the James R. Schlesinger Distinguished Professor at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center of Public Affairs. She has been serving as the executive vice president for policy at American Progress. She served in both the Obama and Clinton administrations, including as deputy assistant to the president for national security affairs.
Professor Rudman holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College. She earned a juris doctorate at Harvard Law School.
Christine Larson has been named as the inaugural holder of the Kemp Endowed Professorship in Honors Mathematics at South Dakota State University. Dr. Larson, a professor of mathematics, has been a member of the university’s faculty since 1992.
Dr. Larson holds a master’s degree in mathematics and a doctorate in mathematics education from Montana State University.
