Three Women Faculty Earn Promotions at Trinity College

Trinity College, the highly rated liberal arts college in Hartford, Connecticut, has announced that five faculty members have been promoted to the rank of full professor. Two of the five are women. In addition, two faculty members were promoted to associate professor and granted tenure. One of the two is a woman.
Kathleen Kete was named the Borden W. Painter Jr. Professor of European History at Trinity College. She specializes in French history and has taught at the college since 1990. Professor Kete is the author of The Beast in the Boudoir: Petkeeping in Nineteenth-Century Paris.
Professor Kete holds bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees, all from Harvard University.
Theresa Morris was promoted to full professor of sociology. She has taught at Trinity since 2000. Her current research focuses on the rate of Caesarian births in the United States.
Professor Morris is a graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma University. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. at Texas A&M University.
Zayde Antrim was promoted to associate professor of history and granted tenure. She has been teaching at Trinity since 2006 and focuses on the cultural and intellectual history of the Middle East.
Dr. Antrim is a graduate of the University of Virginia. She earned a master’s degree at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. She returned to the United States to earn a Ph.D. at Harvard University.
