Juliana Binhote, the Jim Moran Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at Florida State University, received the International Council for Small Business Global Award in Entrepreneurship Educator Excellence. The award honors educators and programs that have redefined entrepreneurship education through creativity, innovation, and measurable impact.
Throughout her career, Dr. Binhote has taught courses in entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and management and organizational business in the United States, as well as international business, negotiation, family business, and family law at both undergraduate and graduate levels in Brazil.
At Florida State, Dr. Binote leads a Collaborative Online International Learning project connecting students with peers at the Armenian State University of Economics. In this course, students from both institutions participate in shared coursework, virtual collaboration, and design-thinking projects that build cross-cultural understanding and entrepreneurial problem-solving skills. Dr. Binote is an entrepreneur herself, owning two companies in Brazil and working as a family lawyer.
Dr. Binhote earned an undergraduate degree in law and a master’s degree in management from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. She received her Ph.D. in entrepreneurship from the University of Louisville in Kentucky.
