University of California Irvine Professor to Edit New Journal on Huntington’s Disease

Leslie Thompson, a professor of psychiatry and human behavior and professor of neurobiology and behavior at the University of California at Irvine was named editor-in-chief of the quarterly Journal of Huntington’s Disease.

The publication is the first journal devoted to the study of Huntington’s Disease, a genetic affliction that leads to the degeneration of brain tissue. Some 30,000 Americans suffer from the disease, which is fatal and can be passed down to offspring.

Dr. Thompson holds a Ph.D. from the University of California at Irvine.
