Mautra Jones Appointed the Eleventh President of Oklahoma City Community College

The board of regents of Oklahoma City Community College has announced the appointment of Mautra Jones as the college’s next president. Dr. Jones will begin her tenure as the college’s 11th president on March 1.

Oklahoma City Community College enrolls more than 12,000 students, according to the most recent data from the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 64 percent of the student body.

“I am grateful for, and humbled by, the confidence the board of regents has instilled in me,” said Dr. Jones. “For the last half-century, Oklahoma City Community College has played an essential and transformative role in educating our citizens, developing Oklahoma’s workforce, and serving our community. I look forward to joining this tradition, and building a new era of growth, opportunity, and exceptionalism.”

Dr. Jones has been serving as vice president of institutional advancement and external affairs at Langston University. She is the site administrator for the university’s Oklahoma City campus, as well as the executive director of the Langston University Foundation.

Dr. Jones received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma. She earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a doctorate from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education.
