Three Universities Announce the Appointment of Women to Dean Positions

Kelly Wilkinson was appointed dean of the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University in Ohio. She was associate dean of the Scott College of Business at Indiana State University. Dr. Wilkinsone joined the faculty at Indiana State University in 2003, was named the director of the Center for Instruction, Research and Technology in 2008, chair of the department of management, information systems and business education in 2014, and associate dean in 2016.

Dr. Wilkinson holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in business education from Arkansas State University. She earned a doctorate in business education from the University of Missouri.

Jullet Davis Weaver will be the dean of the Blair College of Health at Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina, effective March 1, 2022. She is a professor and director of the Health Care Management Division at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. Earlier, she served on the faculty at the Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama. Dr. Weaver’s research applies organizational theory to managerial decision-making in post-acute care settings.

Dr. Weaver received a bachelor’s degree in health services administration from the Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in health policy and administration from Pennsylvania State University.

Karen Gaines was appointed provost and dean of the faculty at Norwich University in Vermont. She is dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and a professor of physiology at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Before joining Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2016, Dr. Gaines worked for the University of Georgia’s Savannah River Ecology Laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy. She will begin her new job at the conclusion of the current academic year.

Dr. Gaines is a graduate of SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse. She holds a master’s degree in wildlife science from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and a Ph.D. in environmental toxicology from the University of South Carolina’s Arnold School of Public Health.
