Seven Women Who Are Taking on New Administrative Duties in Higher Education

Krupal Amin is the new associate director of the Asian American Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She had been teaching American studies, critical race theory, and women and gender studies at the ”‹”‹North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.

Dr. Amin is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she majored in English and comparative literature. She holds a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Ph.D. in English literature from Ohio State University.

Danielle Sims Brooks is the new vice president for student development and enrollment management at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. She has been serving as assistant vice president for student affairs at Jefferson Community and Technical College in Louisville.

Brooks holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tennessee State University. She earned a master’s degree in education administration and supervision from Lipscomb University in Nashville and is currently pursuing an educational doctorate at Western Kentucky University.

Katie Tyler has been hired as an extension specialist and program director for Rural Leadership North Dakota at North Dakota State University in Fargo. Most recently, Tyler was director of enrollment services at Minot State University in North Dakota for six years.

Tyler earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of North Dakota.

Camaron Loritts was appointed assistant director of the Center for Research, Engagement and Collaboration in African American Life at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She is a second-year Ph.D. student in educational studies, with a concentration in cultural foundations at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Loritts holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in women’s and gender studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Beth Kramer was appointed chief development officer and vice president of advancement at Simmons University in Boston. Most recently, Kramer served as the vice president for advancement at the Olin College of Engineering in Needham, Massachusetts. Prior to that, Kramer was the associate dean for development and alumni relations at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design.

Kramer earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University in Ada.

Dominique Moye was named director of Black House at California State University, Northridge. Black House is a student resource that supports and encourages student learning and achievement in Black and African-American culture. It holds events, provides employment and learning opportunities, and offers clubs and organizations that connect students.

Moye is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, where she majored in sociology. She holds a master’s degree in educational counseling from the University of Southern California.

Sarah Brown was appointed director of the Women’s Center at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She joined the university in 2019 as a program manager.

Dr. Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. She holds a master’s degree from the City University of New York and a Ph.D. in American studies from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island
