The Saint Louis University School of Medicine was established in 1836. It was the first school west of the Mississippi River to grant a medical degree. Now in 2020, for the first time in the school’s history, the surgical residency class is made up entirely of women.
The five-member class of surgical residents will now be moving on to new assignments.
* Faidah Badru will undertake a pediatric surgery fellowship at the University of Florida.
* Jennifer Keller has been offered a fellowship in surgical oncology at John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, California.
* Jennifer Lobb has been offered a trauma critical care fellowship at the University of Miami Ryder Trauma Center.
* Laura Peck will continue her education with a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit.
* Annie Mooser will report to the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan Aircraft Carrier as a staff surgeon.
